The University Medical Associates (UMA) Executive Committee voted in March 1997 to adopt a formal organizational Compliance Plan. The goal of the Compliance Program is to ensure that physicans, providers, and billing staff at University Medical Associates understand their legal responsibilities with regard to professional billing. The Mission Statement of the UMA Corporate Compliance The UMA Compliance Department is committed to the pursuit of regulatory compliance. We are dedicated to achieving the highest level of billing and coding accuracy through education and monitoring of providers, employees and agents of UMA as well as serving as advocates for conflict resolution. We strive to uphold the integrity of the organization and to accomplish this goal in a respectful, cooperative and professional manner.
