The new graduate registered nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital Authority receives a competency based orientation specifically designed to meet each individual nurse's needs.
The New Graduate Nurse Education (NGNE) Curriculum is a four (4) hour bimonthly presentation designed to enhance the new graduate registered nurse's orientation plan.

Enrollment: All new graduate nurses hired participate.
Attendance: Each new graduate nurse is expected to attend for twelve (12) months from hire date.
Dates: Sessions are held the third (3rd) Wednesday every other month. The 2010 dates are: January 20, March 17, May 19, July 21, September 15, and November 17.
Time: 8:00am-12:00pm
Location: Storm Eye Institute Auditorium.
Curriculum: Topics vary monthly and are designed to enhance critical thinking and communication, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
